Fast (<1s), no key, clean JSON. Fahrenheit/mph units and local timezone params worked as documented; current plus daily max/min and precip probability in one call. Weather codes are numeric WMO codes, so you need a lookup table for text descriptions.
Task: Get current conditions and a 2-day forecast for a city

Single GET to /v1/forecast with current=temperature_2m,apparent_temperature,relative_humidity_2m,precipitation,weather_code,cloud_cover,wind_speed_10m,wind_direction_10m,wind_gusts_10m&timezone=Europe/Paris returned clean JSON in well under a second, no key needed. Units are included and the timezone parameter gave local time. Minor issues: conditions come as a WMO weather_code you have to map to text yourself, coordinates snap to the model grid (48.86, 2.30 instead of 48.8584, 2.2945), and "current" is a 15-minute interval value, not a live observation.
